Summary: The relations between India and Singapore have a long history, dating back to when Singapore was given its name by an Indian ruler in the 10th century. Today, India and Singapore are mutually important economic partners, a relationship that has expanded exponentially since the two countries signed the Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement (CECA) in June 2005. India’s trade with ASEAN countries has increased from US$ 30.7 billion in 2006-07 to US$ 39.08 billion in 2007-08 and to US$ 45.34 billion in 2008-09 according to data released by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. In order to further strengthen the trade relations between India and Singapore / ASEAN nations, Confederation of Indian Industry in Association with High Commission of India, Singapore is organizing “The India Show 2011” from 14 – 16 January 2011 at Suntec International Convention & Exhibition Centre, Singapore. The initiative is strongly supported by the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India. CII has been successfully organizing “The India Show” formerly known as “Made in India” series since 1995 in various countries like:- Afghanistan, China, Iran, Japan, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Mauritius, Myanmar, Nigeria, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, Thailand, Turkey, Uganda and UK
