We specialise in the design & manufacture of electric or diesel-powered,
hydraulic compression, cement-stabilised, pressed earth solid & hollow
brick/block/paver-making machines; these machines exert up to 50 tonnes
surface pressure and produce bevel-edged, smooth face-brick finish, solid &
hollow blocks measuring 280 x 140 x 90 mm. Hollow blocks have two round
holes, each 70 mm Diameter. With optional, inter-changeable parts costing
US$2195, 00 per complete set, the machine is also capable of producing
mortar-free, interlocking solid & hollow blocks [see drawing].

We have designed and built our ECO BRICK machines to produce ECO-MAXI/BLOCKS
by mixing moist, cohesive clay-based, sub-soil/sand/loam/silt with about 5%
cement by weight (very dry mixture) OR sand with about 10-15% cement by
weight (wetter mixture) and compressing the mixture in the machine under up
to 50 tonnes of hydraulic pressure for literally only 2/3 seconds.

A simple field test to establish suitability of raw material is to take a
handful of slightly
moistened earth [Ideally not exceeding 30% clay content] & squeeze it
tightly in your hand; if, on opening your hand, the material remains
balled up it has sufficient cohesion and is usually suitable. This test,
obviously, does not apply to pure sand !

1. Eco Brick machines are designed to be labour-intensive, requiring an
operator PLUS 4 - 6 completely unskilled, manual labourers & are extremely
easy to operate - only one lever to push up and down. The machines are
delivered complete in every respect and only require the addition of diesel
fuel. The MARK 1V is offered in various different configurations: for
example, two blocks per 25/30 second cycle measuring 280 x 140 x 0-100 mm
[Maxiblock] - either solid only or solid & hollow blocks [requiring optional
change parts for hollow blocks and further optional parts for interlocking
solid & hollow blocks].
2. Each MARK 111 Maxiblock measures 280 x 140 x 90 mm. The 3rd dimension
is infinitely variable from 0 up to 100 mm by a simple adjustment to the
machine. Each machine produces 2 blocks per 25/30 second cycle = 2/5000
blocks per 8/9 hour working day.

3. Ecoblocks are regular and consistent in both size and quality & far
exceed minimum international standards of 2, 4 Mpa for pressed earth
bricks. In addition, they emerge from the machine with a smooth,
plaster-finish which, in the context of low-cost housing, obviates the
necessity to either paint or plaster the wall which represents a very
considerable cost saving. Ecoblocks
are both water / fireproof & have excellent thermal insulation qualities.
They are ideally suited for use in areas with extremes of hot and freezing
cold weather.

MARK 111 Eco machines are very impressive machines producing superb blocks
of varying thicknesses, according to world market requirements and are
engineered to the highest standards - each machine is individually
handmade !

ECOBRICKS/BLOCKS DO NOT REQUIRE ANY FIRING - only air-drying [curing] under
plastic sheeting for 7 - 10 days ! They can be stacked immediately.

In addition, Ecobricks and blocks can be produced far cheaper than
alternative building materials and are far more economical to build with.
The blocks have been tested by the South African Bureau of Standards and
found to exceed minimum international standards by more than three times.
