Frequently asked questions of mold making silicon rubber
1. Why should the silicone mold be reused only for a few times?
It can be due to the following reasons:
a. Adding too much silicone oil in to silicon rubber. Silicon oil is an additive which destroies the molecular weight of silicone rubber and reduce the tension and tear strength.
b. Using the silicon rubber with a high hardness to make molds for small sized products with delicate and intricate designs and the silicon rubber with a low hardness to makes molds for large sized products with simple designs.
(Notes: we should choose the silicon rubber specifically according to the requirements of our products to avoid this problem.)
2. Why is the appearance of the finished mold striate and unsmooth?
It is because the appearance of the product or the model itself is not perfect, and it has not been polished before the further operation. So when you make silicon molds, firstly you should polish the product, spray the mold spray evenly on the product. In this case, the problem can be avoided.

Silicon rubber for mold making with general hardness of 22-55 A0 after curing. Molding silicon rubber is a kind of flowing liquid which features with good resistance to deformation, good tensile and tear strength, acid-alkali as well as high reproduction times, good flowability and easy operation.
Instruction for molding silicon rubber
If customer wants to make large products and large size molds, the mold should be made of silicon rubber with high hardness. On the contrary, if the mold with dedicate and precision patterns, it should make of silicon rubber with low hardness. The mixing ratio between the silicon rubber and the curing agent depents on the customers? requirement. If clients needs fast drying and demold, more curing agent will be added; contrarily, if molds requiring slower drying and demould, less curing agent is needed.
