transparent white cubic system crystal,density 3.24g/cm3,Melting Point 592degree C, decompose when temperature reaches 590degree C.It is soluble in water and concentrated sulfuric acid, but not in alcohols, acetone and concentrated nitric acid. Its aqueous solution shows neutralization property and cannot form hydrate.It is poisonous.

Application:It is mainly used to produce various barium salts and glass colorants in glass

industry. It is also used to manufacture explosives in the national defense industry and used as low temperature salt bath for heat treatment in metallurgical industry. Moreover, it can be applied in fireworks manufacture as well as in electronic industry, liquid crystal, and pharmaceutical industry.
