Object-oriented Software Development Platform

The OSDE is a result combined with object-oriented technology, software development platform, multimedia information process and scientific computation visualization technology. It has implemented the automatic assembly-type signal process system production test platform, allowing researchers, without programming, assemble all test simulation system using basic components. The OSDE has truly and partly implemented the dream of "Let software produce software", reaching the top 1990s international level.

Main Functions
* Supports product development based on audio signal process technology: Per special application requirements, select appropriate algorithm from algorithm database to assemble a simulation model for actual application system under the support of system design tools, and test and evaluate its performance. During this process, capable of adjust system design and algorithm index to search a most excellent options;
* Supports R&D of audio signal process algorithm/system: capable of OSDE-supported secondary development, design and implementation of new algorithm module/system. During this process, set up a non-programmed algorithm test system using tool module database and use the similar module of existing algorithm module database as a base point for performance compare.

Co-funded by Wuhan Technical University of Surveying and Mapping (WTUSM) (http://www.wtusm.edu.cn) and Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone (WEDZ), Wuhan RapidPhone Technology Co.,Ltd. is registered as a high tech company in the state-level WEDZ (http://www.wedz.com) on December 15, 1999. Its name was changed to Wuhan Wuda RapidPhone Technology Co.,Ltd. It specializes in the R&D, production, marketing and technical services of computer software/hardware, multimedia and networking products and other relevant electronic products.



Attracting and gathering many outstanding scholars and experts in the fields of audio, video, multimedia and network communications and experienced professionals in marketing promotion and enterprise management, the company has developed since 1992 from a Research Institute of Multimedia and Network Communications Engineering affiliated to the WTUSM into a sizable R&D force consisting of over 80 staff including over ten(10) post doctoral professors, PhDs, and over thirty(30) masters, and has been dedicated to the R&D and marketing of products related to multimedia and network communications.



With its relatively long history, the company has undertook a number of key scientific and technological projects at national or ministerial level. At present, the company is self sufficient in the sense that it is capable of undertaking software and hardware projects ranging from PC applications to consumer electronics devices.



Unlike many companies which have their core technology licensed from someone else, the company develops all its core technology in-house and has made major progress in the areas of speech recognition, voice synthesis, speech coding and decoding, video coding and decoding, and digital communications. With such foundation, the company has successfully completed the development of a series of high-tech products (for marketing under its name and for technology licensing). Available today are videophone, videoconferencing system, speech-activated dialer with secretarial functions, and network-based key telephone system(KTS). Apart from product development, the company has completed some turn-key systems for clients such as customer services call center, transaction processing system with 110 emergency alerting functions, video communication system installed inside hospital for internal use, and a multimedia information network for community services.



As a measure of our achievements, our PSTN videophone can deliver a frame rate of 25 fps and our speech secretary can perform at a steady first pass recognition success rate of over 95% for large vocabulary (>1000 words). We are currently a third party developer of Texas Instruments Incorporated(TI) and Microsoft (member of MSDN) and we have an Internet product joint-venture development program with Wuhan Telecommunications Bureau.



Wuda RapidPhone Technologies Ltd. will focus on the R&D and industrialization of such burgeoning business as IP technologies-based public information network and IP-based e-commerce, remote education, telemedicine, e-government, and mobile office work.
