Imidazolidinyl urea is a white, free-flowing hygroscopic powder that is very soluble in water. It is compatible with essentially all cosmetic ingredients, including surfactants, proteins, and other special ingredients.
Imidazolidinyl urea is very effective against Gram-negative bacteria, including Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
Imidazolidinyl urea acts synergistically with other preservatives. With the parabens it provides a broad spectrum of activity against bacteria, yeast and mold. This synergistic activity has made the IMIDAZOLIDINYL UREA paraben combination one of the most widely used cosmetic preservative systems in the world.
