Hamburger Elektronik Gesellschaft mbH -----HEG made a name for itself nationally and internationally for its capacity to take projects from scientific institutions from the research level and develop them for commercial production. In this way, the world's first wide-range substandard, the E3, and the first analog-thermal reference standard, the K2004, were developed in co-operation with the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt PTB in Braunschweig, Germany. Both instruments are still in use today with energy supply utilities, laboratories and national metrological institutes all over the world. The consequent development of these instruments, together with the progress into new product areas result in a comprehensive range of products in the field of high precision measurement and meter testing technology.
