A unique and astonishingly simple way of opening bottles has been made possible by invention now granted patents in all the world. This opener functions with air-with just pure common air. Our argument: Air is free for everybody and everywhere.
CORKY, that is the name given to this new device, operates in the manner of an air pump.
A needle-shaped nozzle is penetrated through the cork intothe bottle-neck, one hand grips the bottle-neck and the CORKY - the spring loaded pump-rests comfortably in the other hand. Two or three short strokes and a few cc of air are pumped into the space between bottle-neck and cork. The cork now slides smoothly out and the bottle is open. There is no hazard whatsoever as only air at a preciesly dosed volume is used. Only the volume necessary to withdraw the cork is actually pumped into the bottle. Pressure on the ball of the thumb and the feeling of the cork sliding slowly out indicate that enough air has been pumped in.
Twose who should know are of the opinion that CORKY, made of smooth and shiny polystyrene with chromium-plated metal parts, represent an appealing addition every household and, what is more, the use of pure air will in no way impair the precious flavour of wine.
