Product Performance: Colorless, flammable, oily liquid. 1,4-BDO can dissolve in water, methanol, ethanol, acetone, and slightly dissolve in ether. It has a boiling point of 235¡æ, melting point of 20.1¡æ, flash point (open cup) of 121¡æ, relative density (d4-20) of 1.017, and refractive index of 1.446.

Product Uses: In organic chemistry, 1,4-BDO is used for the synthesis of ¦Ã-Butyrolactone which is widely used in pesticide, medicine and cosmetic. In presence of phosphoric acid and high temperature, it dehydrates to the important solvent tetrahydrofuran that is the important material for producing PTMEG. It is also the main material for producing PBT engineering plastic, PBT fiber, polyurethane synthetic leather, polyurethane elastomer and polyurethane sole glue.
